English Skills for a Global Buddhist Community
Buddhist monks today have increasing opportunities to communicate beyond Sri Lanka.
International Buddhist conferences, foreign temples, meditation programmes, educational exchanges, overseas visits, international devotees and online Dhamma platforms have created a growing need for effective English communication.
However, learning English for this purpose requires more than memorising grammar.

The English for Global Dhamma Communication Programme has therefore been designed to develop practical English skills within situations that Buddhist monks are likely to experience in real life.
From Learning English to Using English
The objective of this programme is not simply to teach English as an academic subject.

Throughout the programme, participants will develop the ability to listen, speak, read and communicate using practical English while gradually building the confidence required for international interaction.
Special attention is given to communication situations related to:
Buddhist teachings | Buddhist life | Dhamma communication | International visitors | Overseas travel | Public speaking | Digital communication
